The qualification is for commercial domestic vessel operators who are seeking a Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal (NC) Certificate of Competency.

The qualification is required for people requiring a commercial licence to operate a commercial vessel up to 12 metres.

This course involves the skills and knowledge required to perform basic maintenance and servicing of main propulsion units and auxiliary systems.

Intended for people who are required to hold a Long Range Radio Operators Certificate.

This course provides approved training to the competency required for a Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal Certificate as specified by the NSCV and AMSA.

To operate machinery on vessels less than 500Kw propulsion power as a Chief Engineer in the EEZ up to offshore limits or as a Second Engineer on a vessel with propulsion power <750Kw in operations up to restricted operations.

Provides approved training to the competency requirements for a Master up to 24m Near Coastal Certificate as specified by the NSVC and AMSA.
