Helping young people get started in the Seafood Industry

Two scholarships awarded as apart of our Working on Water program, which aims to help young people enter the seafood industry.

As part of its long term support of the Working on the Water (WoW) program, this year, SMT offered two scholarships to WoW participants. The scholarship consists of free Coxswain Grade 2 training and includes the payment of all ASMA fees.

The scholarship aims to give successful applicants access to on-water jobs so they can start their careers on the water.

This year, Sophie Clement of Taroona High School and Bailey Mee from Mountain Heights High School were awarded scholarships.

We are looking forward to seeing them in 2021, when they start their training at SMT and their first steps into the Seafood and Maritime Industry.
