This course is for workers who are actively employed in the seafood industry who are undertaking a Certificate III Traineeship.
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to plan, support and contribute to work health and safety processes in a seafood industry environment.
This applies to individuals who have responsibility for maintaining and contributing to compliance with workplace health and safety as part of their role, including duty of care for other workers.
They work under broad direction, take responsibility for their own work, solve routine problems and use discretion and judgement in the use of available resources.

To enrol in this course participants must be employed in the seafood and/or maritime industry.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
This is a 1-day course (9am – 5pm). All equipment, training and assessment materials that participants need will be provided by SMT.
Participants who successfully complete all the written, practical and workplace assessments will receive the 3 following units issued as part of their qualification:
