Summer Vessel Maintenance

Over the summer break, it’s not just the staff who get a refresh—our boats do too!

Both Seatrain and Navigator underwent thorough maintenance to ensure they’re in peak condition for the year of courses ahead.

This year marked significant milestones, with the vessels due for their 5-year renewal and 10-year cycle surveys. Among the key works, the propeller shafts and rudder stocks were removed for inspection, and the fuel tanks underwent cleaning and detailed inspections.

Both boats received a hull cleaning with a high-pressure washer, leaving them spotless and ready for action. Seatrain got the VIP treatment, boasting a fresh coat of anti-fouling, a brand-new propeller shaft, and a new propeller. Meanwhile, Navigator had a port fuel tank leak repaired with a new inspection door and sump installed, and its anchor chain marked with bright colours to indicate different lengths.

To top it all off, both vessels had their exteriors polished to a gleaming finish. The maintenance work was expertly carried out at Clean-Lift in Prince of Wales, Goodwood, ensuring our fleet is ready to sail smoothly into another year of training and adventure.
